The Journeyman has a special time-travel edition iPhone

with 3 comments

I just watched the pilot for NBC’s Journeyman.  If I were to oversimplify the general plot, I’d say that it’s like Quantum Leap happening to a normal guy in 2007.  The key word here is oversimplify. :)   I thought the pilot was pretty good, though.  I’ll be adding the show to my regular TV viewing schedule.  However, I think they’re going to have to get a bit more on the ball about certain details.  Case in point: the main character, Dan, has an iPhone, but unless it’s a special one that’s causing his jumps back in time, it was shown upside-down in a quick scene:

This particular brief glimpse at his phone signified that he wasn’t in the present day, hence the “no service”.  Hello, NBC, I know you have a beef with Apple, but this isn’t the way to make yourselves look like the ones in the right.  Because right now you look very, very wrong. :P

Fall 2007 TV show premiere dates (US)

with one comment

UPDATE: If you’re looking for fall 2008 season premieres, CLICK HERE

===========

I’ve been seeing a lot of people getting to my blog via searches for “house md premiere” or some similar search keywords.  Well, just to make things a little easier, here’s a link to epguide.com’s complete list of season premieres for this fall.  I admit that I have some TV show premiere dates marked down in my Google Calendar so that I don’t forget them. *sheepish grin*  Though, with all the anticipation we have for some premieres, I have it kind of burned into my brain that next week and the week after are big premiere weeks for a bunch of shows (all times below are Central Daylight Savings Time):

  • Chuck – Sept. 24, 7PM
  • Heroes – Sept. 24, 8PM
  • Journeyman – Sept. 24, 9PM
  • House, M.D. – Sept. 25, 8PM
  • Bionic Woman – Sept. 26, 8PM
  • Dexter – Sept. 30, 8PM
  • Life – Sept. 26, 9PM
  • The Office – Sept. 27, 8PM
  • Cavemen – Oct. 2, 7PM
  • Pushing Daisies – Oct. 3, 8PM

There are quite a few freshman TV shows on my list, but I haven’t heard one way or another if any of them are supposed to be good.  Since I still have to wait until next year before Lost and Battlestar Galactica start again, I have some time to try out new shows. :)   Of the older shows, I’m particularly excited for Heroes, House, and The Office to start back up again.

How about you?  Any upcoming shows I should check out?

Posted in TV show, awesome, fun

It had to happen sooner or later…

I went to SimpleWeather a minute ago and noticed that they had a new logo.  Then I saw the following and it all made sense:

What was once a very simple, ad-free page, now is a simple page with a sidebar ad. **sigh**  Oh well, it still loaded pretty fast.  I guess I’ve been going to Accuweather more often anyway, since its forecasts seem a bit more accurate than those on SimpleWeather.

Hello, Flickr.

without comments

Perhaps you’ve noticed that everytime you visit your Flickr homepage, they show you a different way of saying hello in a foreign language (reminds me of old school Wired magazine covers…IIRC they did the same thing.  Either “hello” or “Wired” in different languages.  Now I can’t remember. :P ).  I just happened to see the following just a few minutes ago:

This is cool, because I’m of Filipino descent, and Tagalog (tah-GAH-lawg, not “tag a log”) is the national language. :)   Just a cute thing I happened upon that I had to blog.  Excuse my indulgence. :)

Okay, T-Mobile, what are you trying to pull here?

without comments

I’ve read in a couple places now that T-Mobile decided to lower the price of their Total Internet Add-on plan by $10, presumably to be more competitive with AT&T.  I figured that the price difference would automatically apply to my data plan, so I didn’t worry about it.  I saw yet another story about the data plan on jkOnTheRun and decided to check to see whether T-Mobile had applied the discount to my account yet.  Here’s what I saw:

Considering that I’ve heard so many good things about T-Mobile’s customer service, I’m wondering what kind of service level I’m “enjoying” right now. :P   I’m going to investigate what the difference is, if any, between the $30 and $20 plans and make my choice accordingly.  I’ve been pretty happy with the data service so far, despite it not being as fast as 3G, so I don’t want to dump the data plan altogether.  But I was just so surprised at this foolishness on T-Mobile’s site that I had to vent.  I haven’t even set up the WiFi hotspot login information for my data plan, so I’m not even using it to its fullest yet.
